Hanz Schantz again hosts the Based Book Sale, this time over Black Friday and Cyber Monday. This sale features primarily 99 cent or free e-books from a wide range of independent authors. The sale runs from November 22nd (today!) starting at 6pm Central Time through November 28th (next Tuesday).
Why should you care?
Tired of books and movies whose goal appears to be to lecture and hector you with their politics rather than to entertain you? Then this sale will introduce you to many authors and creators whose primary goal is to entertain their readers, not to indoctrinate them. This sale will give you a taste of the stories made by people who live and work outside of the Big Four Lumber Mills of Old Publishing.
And once you have that taste, and if you find you like it, then make sure you do what the big name conservative pundits don’t do: pass it on, tell a friend, buy a book as a gift for people you think might like that author’s stuff, and — enjoy!
And one of the most important things you can do to help?
WRITE A REVIEW!
Doesn’t have to be a book or an essay. Just type a few lines of why you liked the work and tell people if you enjoyed it. That simple.
Hanz’ blog is at this link. At 6pm Central, the sale goes live. Hit up his site and dive into what entertainment used to be, and can be again.
If you despair of the state of culture as seen in book publishing, video, movies, and mainstream entertainment in general, this is a way you can both push back and support new voices in entertainment who want to give you enjoyment again!
